Forest River Consolidates Cargo Trailer Manufacturing
Forest River announced a reorganization of its Cargo Division involving production facilities in Ocilla, Georgia, and Elkhart, Indiana.
As part of the Cargo Division reorganization, Forest River will be closing its Ocilla, Georgia based manufacturing facility and consolidating four Elkhart County cargo trailer facilities into two existing locations. The decision will impact approximately 110 Georgia and 160 Elkhart County, Indiana, employees.
While manufacturing in Ocilla will conclude by the end of 2024, Forest River remains committed to serving both its cargo trailer dealers and owners through its other manufacturing locations in Indiana and Texas. Forest River’s Commercial Vehicle operation, also located in Ocilla, Georgia, is not part of this announcement and will continue to operate.
“Forest River has a strong commitment to the cargo trailer retail market, and although our manufacturing presence in Georgia is ending, our dedication to our dealers and customers is unwavering,” said David Wright, president of Forest River Commercial.
Various Forest River brands currently manufactured in the affected Georgia cargo trailer facility will be relocated to existing facilities in Texas and Indiana, where Forest River was founded and is currently headquartered, operating more than one hundred manufacturing plants.
The closures are tentatively scheduled to conclude by the end of the year. Forest River is working closely with the impacted employees to provide support during this transition.
