Fort Meyers Show Had 12,000 Attendees

The 35th Annual Fort Myers RV Show, held at the Lee Civic Center in Florida, registered its best show attendance in recent years with close to 12,000 RVers, according to the show organizers. The show featured 13 dealers and more than 100 vendors. Region One of the statewide Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) sponsored this annual event the past weekend of Jan. 23 to 26.

“This year we avoided bad weather, so the crowds came out,” said Jack Carver, show manager. “We were smacked last year with quite a bit of rain, so this was a needed break.”

The event followed the successful 35th Annual RV SuperShow in nearby Tampa.

“I talked to many show attendees who said they were actively shopping for an RV before making a final decision,” said FRVTA Region 1 President Everett Henkel III, owner of RV Kountry in Fort Myers. “Fortunately, many attendees made that buying decision this past weekend as dealers reported very strong RV sales.”

Besides show vendors and dealers, the 35th Annual Fort Myers RV Show also presented a series of RV lifestyle seminars that offered patrons a chance to learn about various RV travel options and destinations, new RV products and simple RV maintenance techniques.

“From everything I’ve heard, the show was a tremendous success,” said Region 1 Show Chair Tom Wegge of Fort Myers-based Palm RV. “It was great to achieve an outstanding turnout, strong sales and great Florida weather.”
