Bob and Tammy Roberts, founders of Bob’s RV Country in Beaverton, Ore., passed away within a few days of each other in January.

Bob died Jan. 8 and Tammy died Jan. 13.

Bob Roberts started Bob’s Camper and Sport Sales in Beaverton, Oregon in 1969. At first he was selling truck campers, snowmobiles and ATVs.

Shortly after his business got started, he married Tammy and they continued to grow the business into thriving RV sales and service facility.

Eventually they got away from selling the snowmobiles and ATVs and turned their efforts more toward Motor Homes, 5th Wheels, Travel Trailers and Truck Campers.  In doing so, they changed the name of the business to Bob’s RV Country.

Bob and Tammy were a couple of the pioneers in the RV industry. They were participants in many RV growth associations including RVIA and RVDA. Over the years their dealership had won many awards from various RV manufacturers and industry organizations for high achievements as a premier RV sales and service center.

Bob & Tammy both retired from the RV industry in late 1996, closing the doors of Bob’s RV country.

But they kept in contact with other local dealers they had become friends with over the years. It seems Bob’s love of the RV industry kept him curious for years into his retirement.
