FRVTA Approves Funds To Participate in Florida Job Fairs
The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) has signed up to be a part of job fairs taking place all over the state at Tech Schools.
At the December Board of Directors Meeting, the board approved funds for materials so that each of the seven regions can participate in local job fairs.
“In an effort to fill the many openings that our dealers and service centers have for technicians, we have developed a backdrop and table cover so we can be a part of job fairs around the state,” said FRVTA Executive Director Dave Kelly. “Michele Berg and I took part in one last week at the JTech School in Jacksonville. They have a Marine/RV Training Program and it was a pleasure to meet the students, many of whom graduate in a couple of months. We have encouraged them to reach out to our members as the need for technicians grows every year.”
Upcoming job fairs in Florida’s Ocala, Ft. Myers and the Tampa Area will be covered by FRVTA Board members and volunteers. FRVTA also developed some giveaways that include screwdriver/flashlight tools and voltage meters. This will keep the FRVTA in the students’ minds as they go out into the world and seek employment.
“We’re looking forward to the feedback we will get from our participation and from the students. Hopefully this will help us move the needle to fill the many job openings available for technicians,” said Kelly.
