Following a six-year distribution deal with Lippert Components last week, Furrion announced its plans to build a $4 million facility in Elkhart.
The facility would add 40 jobs, mostly engineers and technicians, the Elkhart Truth reports.
The Elkhart County Council gave preliminary approval for a tax phase-in on the facility, saving Furrion about $380,000 over 10 years. The council will hold a public hearing at its Aug. 8 meeting.
A spokesperson with the company said that more details about the new facility would be available over the next few weeks.
Last week, Lippert paid approximately $11 million to acquire Furrion’s current inventory and deposits on inventory and gains distribution rights for Furrion’s product line as part of a six-year distribution deal.
