General RV Breaks Ground on North Carolina Store
General RV Center broke ground today on a new store in Salisbury, North Carolina, approximately 40 miles north of Charlotte.
This will be the company’s 16th dealership in the country and first in North Carolina. Rowan County and city officials as well as community leaders joined General RV representatives to celebrate the start of construction, which began at 9:30 a.m. this morning, Aug. 15, at 595 E. Ritchie Road in Salisbury.
General RV said it will invest an estimated $25 million in Rowan County in real property improvements and equipment. Once opened, the dealership is expected to create more than 150 full-time jobs with an average salary of $65,000. Construction and development are expected to create an additional 66 indirect and induced jobs within the community.
Other businesses in Rowan County will also benefit from General RV’s estimated 10,000 annual customers who will spend an average of 6 hours in their shops, restaurants and attractions, the dealership said. The result for the local community will be approximately $740,000 of annual visitor spending.
