General RV Hosts Ribbon Cutting for New South Weber Supercenter

General RV Center, the nation’s largest family-owned RV dealer, and home to two dealerships in Utah, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week to celebrate its newest Supercenter in South Weber, Utah.

General RV Center’s ownership and leadership teams were joined by nearly 80 others from the South Weber community including Mayor Rod Westbroek, city council members and firefighters as well as RV manufacturers for a ceremony and a tour of its new facility. The event also was a kick-off to the dealership’s Summer Blowout sales event for the Supercenter.

“It took almost two years to get from a shovel in the ground to what you guys see here today. It was a lot of time, energy and effort to get here. I want to thank everybody who had a part in that,” said CEO of General RV and third-generation owner Loren Baidas at Wednesday’s event. “We’re blessed to be able to build such a beautiful facility in a great community and being welcomed by South Weber.”

Located approximately 30 miles north of Salt Lake City, the 65,000-square-foot South Weber Supercenter is General RV’s second location in the state and offers an extensive inventory of more than 500 new and used RVs, including motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers. The facility also features 30 service bays — including a dedicated body shop — designed to support all types of RV maintenance and repair needs.

“South Weber is my home,” said Paxton Jensen, operations manager for the South Weber Supercenter, who talked about the legacy of his family in the RV industry in Utah as well as the Baidas family’s impact and support. “South Weber (and this Supercenter) to me represents effort and dedication. It’s been one of those hauls to get here that makes you grateful for those people around you because they build you up.”

Since its official opening earlier this year, the South Weber Supercenter has created more than 80 sales, finance, parts, technicians, office managers and customer service professional jobs in the area. The construction of the Supercenter, which began in 2023, also was responsible for bringing in dozens of construction jobs to the South Weber region.

“We’re so happy to have General RV here in South Weber,” said South Weber Mayor Rod Westbroek at Wednesday’s ribbon cutting ceremony. “South Weber is a great community, and I think they’ll reap great benefits from being here. We look forward to a good future for you (General RV) and South Weber.”

General RV Center owns and operates 23 Supercenters across 10 states (Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah and Virginia). The company opened its first Utah dealership in Draper in 2009 and has consistently been named the state’s top RV dealer by Statistical Surveys Inc.

“We’ll do whatever we can to make the journey of buying an RV and being in this community pleasurable,” said Robert Jensen, general manager of General RV’s Draper Supercenter and longtime RV industry leader who was instrumental in the development of the South Weber Supercenter. “We (General RV) bring a lot of economic development into our community. And I guarantee you; we’re in for good days.”
