General RV Opens New Supercenter in Michigan

General RV recently opened the General RV Clarkston Supercenter located on Dixie Highway off Interstate 75 in Clarkston, Mich.

“My grandfather founded General RV in Detroit almost 60 years ago. We are proud to share our passion for the RV lifestyle by strengthening our network of dealerships here at home,” said Loren Baidas, president of General RV Center. “The Clarkston Supercenter is just one example of General RV’s commitment to reinvesting in our facilities so we can continue to provide an industry-leading experience for customers and grow the General RV family.”

Employees from the General RV store in White Lake have transferred to Clarkston.

“We’ve served the White Lake and Waterford areas for over 30 years and had a great experience there. We had simply outgrown that facility and needed an upgrade,” said Bill Brown, operations manager for the store. “Our employees and customers were patient as we found a new home for the store, and I’d like to thank all of them for their support through the transition.”

The new Supercenter is located at 8665 Dixie Highway in Clarkston, and has 300 RVs on the lot and 16 service bays. The 20-acre facility is also the first new building designed to meet Dixie Highway Design Guidelines. Prairie-style architecture, extensive landscaping, and natural stone accents highlight the beauty of the area, according to the company.

“We worked closely with the Springfield Township Planning Commission as we were building,” said Brown. “With their support, we were able to design a unique and beautiful facility that gives us the capacity to serve many more customers.”

Although the Clarkston facility is five times larger than the previous location, Brown promises that customers can expect the same level of personalized service that the White Lake store offered.

“We’re still going to be the store where everyone knows your name,” said Brown. “Our employees build great relationships with our customers and treat them like family, and that’s how we’ll continue to do business.”
