Generational Camping Trends will be ARVC Panel Topic

At its upcoming annual conference, the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC), in partnership with RMS North America, will feature a special panel highlighting its new 2021 Generational Camping Report. The full-length, intergenerational study examines the major trends and topics of today’s camping landscape and provides actionable insights for campground and RV park owners.

The panel will take place at ARVC’s 2021 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE2021) from 8 – 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Raleigh, N.C. The discussion will be moderated by ARVC Vice President of Membership and Marketing David Basler, and panelists include:

  • Adelle Rodriguez, director of marketing, RMS North America
  • Cam Johnson, director of business development, RVShare
  • Jeff Sims, senior director of state relations and program advocacy, ARVC

“The most valuable information an outdoor hospitality business owner can possess is data on what campers want, and that’s what this new study is all about – looking at trends from different generations of campers,” said Basler. “Attendees at OHCE2021 will walk away from this panel with information they can put to use as soon as they get home – information that will help them market their business, adjust to upcoming camper trends and even advocate for their park as an asset to the local community.”

Panel discussions will center around the survey’s major findings, including: amenities today’s campers expect when booking a reservation, the future of peer-to-peer RV rental and how it will affect outdoor hospitality businesses, and campers’ communication preferences before and after a reservation is made. Additionally, panel attendees will be equipped with information to prove economic impact to local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

RMS, a leading provider of cloud-based reservation and property management systems in the hospitality industry, partnered with ARVC to sponsor the study to help the industry better understand the thoughts and sentiments of campers across all age groups.

“The data from this comprehensive study will be invaluable to campground and RV park owners as they look for new ways to cater to today’s camper,” said Adelle Rodriguez of RMS. “We’re excited to share the findings from this study and hope OCHE2021 panel attendees walk away from the session feeling empowered and equipped for next year’s busy season.”
