Germany’s Bürstner To End Caravan Production To Focus on Motorhomes, Camper Vans
According to a report from AboutcampBtoB, German leisure vehicle brand Bürstner has announced that it will be discontinuing production of caravans from the 2027 season, so that it can focus fully on motorhomes and camper vans.
The company says that the decision “defines its product portfolio for the future of mobile travel” as part of its “Bürstner Reloaded” strategic realignment — highlighting the changing needs and usage patterns of its customers.
Bürstner says that the discontinuation of caravan production is “until further notice.” However, the company will continue to fully guarantee after-sales services and spare parts supply for customers who have purchased caravans.
Hubert Brandl, CEO of Bürstner, said: “Our decision is not a permanent farewell to caravans, but rather a conscious decision to focus the Bürstner brand on the consistent further development of the camper van and motorhome portfolio.
“Our customers can already look forward to exciting innovations in the new model year.”
This move by Bürstner could be seen as a continuation of the reorganization of its product portfolio that saw it go from having 16 product lines and 75 models across motorhomes, caravans, and campervans, to a new streamlined motorhome and camper range of 11 models in 2025.
Bürstner is part of the Erwin Hymer Group, which will continue to provide the caravan category with diverse concepts at many different price points via well-established brands such as LMC, Dethleffs, and Eriba. The Erwin Hymer Group is a subsidiary of THOR Industries.
