Hall of Famer Mel Fath Dies at 84
Mel Fath was inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame in 2002.
Mel Fath, a resident of Westville, Ind., and a member of the RV/MH Hall of Fame, died this week at age 84.
Fath was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002. He was a 25-year member and past president of the board of directors on the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association and served as the association’s delegate to the National Manufactured Housing Federation. In its entry, the Hall of Fame notes that Fath was “a long-time proponent of stringent and meaningful standards for community operators.”
He was the original owner of New Durham Estates, a family-owned and operated manufactured housing community in Westville. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Thelma, and many children and grandchildren.
