Heartland RV Helping Promote Move It! Michiana
Elkhart, Ind.-based Heartland RV announced that for the second year in a row, Move It! Michiana is committed to creating awareness and raising donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana. Because of COVID-19, things are different this year; Move It! will be the community’s first virtual 5K race.
The Ronald McDonald House of Michiana serves the families of critically ill and severely injured children at Memorial Hospital and Beacon Children’s Hospital in South Bend by providing meals and overnight accommodations. Each year, providing these services adds up to tens of thousands of daytime visits and overnight stays.
The virtual 5K can be run anywhere in the world with friends and family and participants around the country will be able to complete in the race between Aug. 29 and Sept. 5 to support the children and families at RMHC of Michiana. The results will be streamed live the morning of Sept. 5.
“It was important to our team to continue efforts in creating awareness and raising donations for Ronald McDonald House of Michiana despite the challenges COVID-19 has presented when planning a large event,” said Amber Stevenson, who oversees marketing initiatives for Move It! Michiana. “We thought a virtual 5K was a great solution because it opens the event up to anyone across the country wanting to participate and allows families who have a connection to Ronald McDonald House to give back no matter which house location they stayed.”
