Hellwig Releases New Rear Sway Bar for 1999-21 Ford F-53 Motorhome Chassis
Hellwig Suspension Products, a manufacturer of towing, hauling, and performance suspension products, has released a new adjustable rear sway bar for the 1999-2021 Ford F-53 motorhome chassis (24,000-pound or higher GVWR). The product is designed to improve driver control and safety by reducing body roll and sharpening the vehicle’s driving dynamics, the company said.
The Ford F-53 motorhome chassis features a ladder-type frame, built with e-coated 36,000-psi steel. The robust construction of the F-53 chassis makes it a popular choice for motorhome manufacturers to build upon. While the F-53 chassis is outfitted with a rear sway bar from the factory, a class-A motorhome’s high center of gravity warrants further support to maintain optimal control, according to the company.\
Hellwig’s rear sway bar mounts in addition to the factory supplied sway bar, significantly increasing load and sway control. The reduced body roll and enhanced handling characteristics inspire driver confidence, especially when towing or carrying additional weight.
The 1999-2021 Ford F-53 Chassis bolt-on rear sway bar (P/N 7327) is forged from solid 1 3/4-inch diameter heat-treated 4140 chromoly steel. The sway bar kit includes all mounting hardware and end links necessary for installation as well as polyurethane bushings for smooth and quiet operation. All steel components are powder coated to prevent corrosion and wear.
Hellwig sway bars can be installed with basic tools in just a few hours. Hellwig products are made in the USA and are covered by a lifetime warranty on all steel parts.
