Hershey Debuts Seminar Lineup for 2015 Show

America’s Largest RV Show at Hershey debuts its education line-up for the 2015 Industry Days portion of the show held September 14 – 15 at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pa.

This year’s schedule includes technician training from Dometic, Mor Ryde, Dexter Axle, Blue Ox, Atwood, Titan International, Lippert, Norcold, Thetford and David’s Permanent Coatings. Gary Motley will also be conducting a pre-delivery inspection course that includes hands-on demonstrations. Training qualifies for recertification hours.

In addition to technician training, Industry Days include a distributor showcase by Keller Marine and RV as well as a seminar on “How to Recruit and Keep Work Campers” by Steve Anderson of Workamper News.

Industry Days also offer a free party at Hersheypark and a Red Carpet Breakfast featuring NFL Hall of Famer Tim Brown.

Instructor Glenn Null will explain and identify components of axle, brakes and suspension systems. The session will include hands-on training on brakes, bearings, seals and measuring of axles and frames including information on the following: Jacking up a trailer, removal of the hub and drum, brakes and magnets, bearings and seals, brake adjustments, wheel torque, suspension and information on maintenance manuals.

Pre-Delivery Inspection Training

In this seminar, Gary Motley will detail 5 crucial steps to the pre-delivery inspection, suggested PDI equipment, PDI warranty form, and correct paperwork and documentation. The training will also cover what you need to know when conducting a PDI on the propane, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as the generators, appliances, interior, exterior, fire and life safety devices, expandable rooms, and stabilizing jacks. Motorized, towables and truck campers will be covered. The seminar will include a sample PDI checklist.

NFL Hall of Famer (Class of 2015) Tim Brown is a Heisman Trophy Winner and was elected by the Raiders in the 1st round (6th player overall) of the 1988 draft. He set Raiders franchise records for receptions, receiving yards, and punt return yards. At the time of retirement, his 14,934 receiving yards were second-highest total in NFL history; 1,094 receptions were 3rd; and 100 touchdown catches were tied for 3rd with a total of 19,682 combined net yards.

Installing hydraulic disc brakes on 5th wheel and trailers. Actual installation steps, including trouble shooting guides. Includes product information on the disc brakes, electric over hydraulic actuator, and brake lines. This will include retro fitting current trailers with electric drum brakes.   A full description of all parts used in the installation.  Also would be good for their service managers and parts people.

Lippert technical trainers will present a seminar on some of the industry’s most popular components and systems, including slideouts, leveling and Correct Track. The trainers will present detailed information on LCI’s Schwintek InWall Slideout system, Level-Up hydraulic leveling and Correct Track, a safe and easy way to correct a misaligned trailer suspension system. Information provided will include an overview of each system’s operation, as well as a variety of troubleshooting techniques – including  hands-on experience via mockups. The seminar will also feature quick tips for diagnosing various issues. Regular and preventative maintenance will also be covered. Various take-home informational materials will also be provided to each participant. The materials can be used for future troubleshooting and operational questions.

Norcold/Thetford

Instructor Brent Grieves will present a seminar on Norcold’s cooling unit and how it works, including ventilation, burner and orifice, spark electrode, heaters and downdraft effects. Diagnostics, removal, resealing and testing information will also be discussed. The seminar will include details on the Power Board’s codes, flow charts and diagnostic screens as well as the icemaker diagnostics and water valve information.  Thetford Sanitation Products will also be covered including holding tank chemicals and seal lubricants.  A service and parts breakdown will also be held on the following toilet models:  Bravara, Aria, Aqua Magic Style Lite and Tecma. A question and answer session will conclude the training.

How to Recruit and Keep Work Campers

This seminar, brought to you by Steve Anderson of Workamper News, will help you fine tune your focus on Work Campers and their utilization in your operation. Gain a better understanding of the paradigms of the Baby Boomer Work Camper.
