Hitch RV has announced the acquisition of Berks Mont Camping Center located in Boyertown, Pa. The company said that with the acquisition, Hank Shellenberger “who has been the backbone of Berks Mont Camping Center for over 26 years,” has announced his retirement.
Scott Hayden, general manager of Hitch RV, stated, “We are pleased to carry the torch going forward of such a great company along with the tradition and values that the Shellenberger family has maintained.”
The acquisition adds to the other three Hitch RV locations in Berlin, N.J., Milford, Del., and Columbia, SC. The company said it will continue to carry the brands that Berks Mont Camping Center has carried along with adding a few other core brands.
In addition to the acquisition, Hitch RV said it recently expanded its staff with two new general sales manager appointments. Gary Hosking will serve the Milford location, while Tim Hopkins has been named general sales manager for the Columbia location.
“Gary has nearly 25 years’ experience in the RV business with recently being at RV Country in Reno, Nev.,” Hayden stated. “We are happy that Gary wanted to get back on the east coast and was interested in Delaware.”
Regarding Hopkins, Hayden stated, “Tim has a long history of being in the RV business with recently being at Florida Outdoors and La Mesa RV. We are happy that Tim mirrors our core values and brings a spark of enthusiasm to the location.”
