National Marine Manufacturer’s Association President Frank Hugelmeyer recently issued a memo to all members of the association regarding the coronavirus.

The association is currently proceeding with its upcoming boat shows and events as scheduled. The next scheduled show is the Progressive Insurance Saltwater Fishing Expo in Edison, N.J., on March 13-15. That will be followed by the Progressive Insurance Northwest Sportshow in Minneapolis from April 2-5 and the American Boating Congress in Washington, D.C., May 12-14.
In the memo, Hugelmeyer wrote, “NMMA, like the general public, is closely monitoring the impact that the coronavirus outbreak is having around the globe. As part of this, we are following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the World Health Organization and others in relation to travel and understanding potential risks around hosting large events.”
He continued, “For every event that NMMA owns and operates, the safety and wellbeing of all attendees and participants is paramount.”
