Indiana, Elkhart Jobless Rates Dip

The Elkhart County jobless rate dipped to 4.8 percent in the month of February, improving from 5.5 percent in January, according to data released from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The statewide jobless rate for February was 6.1 percent, compared to the U.S. total of 5.8 percent.

The Elkhart jobless rate ranks among the lowest in the state of Indiana (12th), and nearby LaGrange County posted even better figures with a 4.5 percent jobless rate, ranking the third lowest in the state for the month.
