Industry Veteran Introduces AWAKEN Molded Fiberglass Travel Trailers
Seventeen-year RV industry veteran Scott Hubble is once again setting his sights on reshaping a niche in the RV world. After fueling two major revivals in the past, Hubble now has his eyes on a third: molded fiberglass travel trailers, AWAKEN RV said in a recent release.

Hubble’s journey began in 2007 when he joined a small distributor called Little Guy. At the time, teardrop trailers were little more than a blip on the RV landscape, with sales largely confined to used car lots. But Hubble saw potential. A couple of years later, he brokered a deal with Pleasant Valley Teardrop Trailers (later renamed nuCamp) just as they were emerging from bankruptcy. It was then that he helped turn teardrops into a nationwide phenomenon, the company said. The key, Hubble said, was understanding that people matter most. Over the next several years, the market exploded, and Little Guy grew more than sixtyfold in annual revenue.
In 2016, Hubble shifted over to nuCamp full time, where he not only continued to expand the teardrop segment but also breathed new life into the truck camper market — a category long stagnant in design and innovation. Under his leadership, nuCamp modernized the truck camper aesthetic, infused it with fresh functionality and earned a reputation as one of the top names in the space. By the time Hubble stepped away in 2024, nuCamp had achieved 85 times growth and was widely recognized as a leader in both teardrops and truck campers.
Reflecting on his departure from nuCamp, Hubble explained, “I woke up one day and realized I wasn’t having fun anymore. The playbook that built success before had run its course — not for lack of value, but because it no longer served nuCamp or aligned with their vision. I realized it was time to carry that formula to new ground, where it could unlock potential in an untapped, community-driven niche.”
And that’s exactly what AWAKEN RV represents: the next challenge, the next reinvention, the next opportunity to breathe fresh life into a niche community.
Today, Hubble said he is chasing the proverbial “hat trick.” His new venture, AWAKEN RV, is designed to redefine what molded fiberglass trailers can be. Hubble intends to deliver seamless, 8-foot-wide campers, equipped with full dry baths, littered with windows and built with an entirely new approach to materials and execution — with sizes ranging all the way up to 32 feet in length, AWAKEN RV said. The emphasis, Hubble said, isn’t on chasing preconceived expectations around weight or cost. Instead, it’s about breaking from convention to elevate quality, amenities and design — charting a new path rather than checking boxes. With that said, the one thing that remains central to his game plan is keeping people first.
With AWAKEN RV, Hubble said he isn’t just building trailers — he’s building on a legacy of transforming overlooked segments into thriving communities. If history is any indicator, molded fiberglass may be the next RV niche to rise under Hubble’s vision, completing his long-sought after hat trick.
