Italian Electric RV Expands Solar Roof, Produces Water From Moisture
The following is a product showcase from Design Boom.
CES 2024 serves as a platform to introduce green solutions, including Pininfarina’s co-designed Electric Transformer House (eTH), a “mobile living space” with movable walls, an expandable solar-panel roof and a generator that converts and purifies moisture from the air with ambient clean water.
The Italian design house is partnered with AC Future to conceptualize and design the electric RV known as “Electric Transformer House.”
Pininfarina and AC Future have yet to pinpoint the production timeline of the unit.
Visitors to CES 2024 can check out the electric RV in the West Wall. Here, they can witness its movable walls feature, which expands to 400 square feet at the push of a button, alongside the retractable solar panel roof that captures and converts sunlight into electricity, generating 25kWh-plus, and the Atmospheric Water Generator system that converts moisture from the air with up to 50 liters of clean water.
Pininfarina and AC Future said they want the Electric Transformer House and RV to also serve as an accessory dwelling unit, meaning a second house and a moving office for nomads working on the road. The addition of Starlink connectivity, co-pilot assistance and customizable interior and exterior color options is intentional to ensure that the owner can experience living, working and traveling all at once, the companies said.
The electric RV also features driver-assist technology, a flexible dashboard and office desk, and integrated home entertainment to allow passengers to wind down through movies, music, games and more. Due to its expandable solar-panel roof, Pininfarina and AC Future’s Electric Transformer House, showcased at CES 2024, is powered entirely by green energy with seven days of off-grid capabilities.
