ITR Debuts Hydronic Heating System

International Thermal Research (ITR) has introduced the Oasis Zephyr HW hydronic heating system for diesel-powered Class B and Class C motorhomes.

The new Zephyr HW is a 12-volt (DC), diesel-fueled, continuous on-demand hot water, multi-zone space heating furnace, according to ITR. The unit measures 10 inches high, 14 inches wide and 19 inches deep.

The “state-of-the-art” unit includes ITR’s patented “no smoke, no smell, low pressure” burner with quiet operation, and low emissions, like the company’s Oasis heater.

“It will deliver all the warmth users could possibly need for a five-zone, single-loop configuration,” according to ITR.

The energy efficient Zephyr HW heater has a true output of 33,000 BTU, with an additional 5,200 BTU from a 1,500-watt 120VAC electric element, according to the company. The fuel consumption to operate the unit is 0.28 gallons per hour of continuous operation and on-demand hot water.

The electric element of the device still is capable of providing heat and hot water while the air conditioner is running. The device’s electronics provide supplemental and automatic diesel heat if it’s required, according to ITS. The system includes engine pre-heat and engine waste heat-management features.

The Zephyr HW burner components and water jacket are marine-grade stainless, according to the company. The external case is finished with durable gunmetal powder coating. The unit is built and fully certified to UL and CSA standards.
