The Australian line of Jayco is celebrating its 40th year in business, the Courier Mail reports.
The Victoria-based company employs 1,000 people and claims 45 percent of the country’s market share, despite 115 competitors.
“We have committed to manufacturing here and we believe Australians can do it as well as anyone else,” Australia Jayco Founder Gerry Ryan told the Courier Mail. “I’m proud to say that we can manufacture in Australia and I still get a kick out of seeing a Jayco travelling along the road.”
The Caravan Industry Association of Australia reports 21,300 RVs were made in Australia last year, up more than fourfold in the past 20 years.
