According to a recent report from The Elkhart Truth, RV makers Jayco and THOR Industries teamed up to bring a “full circle” celebration of fun and community to youngsters at the Boys & Girls Club of Middlebury.
The two companies hosted RV Day at the club on Tuesday, filling the building and grounds with hands-on activities, interactive stations and RV experiences. The event served as an example of the strong partnership between the RV industry manufacturers and Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County.
Many Jayco and THOR employees not only volunteered at the club, but they also had children who attended its programs. For them, RV Day felt personal.
“This event is about giving kids a fun, memorable experience while showcasing the spirit of adventure and togetherness that RVing represents,” said Nick Sherk, teen program manager at the Middlebury Boys & Girls Club. “It is really special to see parents from Jayco and THOR volunteering at the same place their kids come every day. It makes this partnership feel like one big extended family.”
Club members rotated through a series of “RV Stops” including RV tours in the parking lot, a kaleidoscope building station, decorating biodegradable pots and planting seeds, a bubble station, musical chairs in the gym, a Kona Ice stop and a themed photo booth where each child took home a Polaroid picture with J. Jay the Jayco mascot.
