K-Z Organizes Hurricane Relief Efforts

K-Z RV is spearheading a hurricane relief effort in its local community.

“We must all respond to assist others in their times of need, whether that support be large or small,” said Aram Koltookian, K-Z president. “Every contribution is important, and it all adds up.”

People that live and work in Northcentral Indiana are requested to please drop off any donations at K-Z. K-Z, in turn, will purchase goods to top off the trucks and make donations to several charities in Texas and Florida.

“Our community has always responded to those in need, and they’ve really stepped up to the plate in embracing their civic responsibilities,” said Koltookian. “They’re answering this effort in ways that transcend check writing.”

K-Z is acting as a staging area for the local communities, collecting physical donations to aid with disaster relief efforts. All donations must be received at K-Z by Sept. 25.

Here are items FEMA suggests:

  • Large plastic totes with lids are desperately needed
  • FEMA suggests bottled water, diapers, baby wipes, pet crates, paper toweling and toilet paper. Personal hygiene items are also requested, as well as baggies, trash bags, batteries, flashlights.
  • No food items.

“Our employees are donating money and supplies, and additional individuals and companies have donated and dropped off even more,” said Koltookian. “I’d like to continue to spread the word to family, friends, suppliers and community partners; we really can make a difference, and I thank those who’ve already donated.”
