Kampgrounds of America Touts Multiple KOA Campground Additions
Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) announced several new additions to the organization’s family of campgrounds.
Sherstin Lauman and April Lewis have their new campground, the Sterling/Lake Ontario KOA Holiday. Bringing a passion for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the region, they are eager to build a welcoming camping experience that highlights the unique charm of the Sterling area, KOA said.
Nestled in Sterling, New York, the Sterling/Lake Ontario KOA Holiday offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, with easy access to the stunning shoreline of Lake Ontario. Located within minutes of Fair Haven and less than an hour from Rochester, Syracuse and Oswego, this campground offers the perfect base for visitors looking to explore the region’s scenic landscapes and charming small towns.
“When we first visited this part of New York, we were struck by its beauty, serenity, and the charm of Fair Haven,” said Sherstin Lauman, campground owner. “We love the mature trees, diverse wildlife, and opportunities for water sports. Our goal is to create a campground experience where families can connect with nature and each other, and engage with the local community.”
KOA also welcomed the new Zion National Park KOA Holiday to the KOA family. Owners Noah and Sydni Ferber bring years of experience in RV park management and a longtime commitment to outdoor hospitality. With two independent RV parks already under their belt and more than 50 years of family experience in the RV industry, the Ferbers are excited to open a new chapter, delivering the trusted KOA experience to Zion National Park visitors.
Located just 12 miles from the entrance of Zion National Park and nestled along the Virgin River, the campground offers guests a scenic base camp. The brand-new build is the first campground in the area to feature extra-wide 35-foot RV sites — providing both spaciousness and comfort in an unbeatable location.
“We’ve had so many great experiences staying at KOA campgrounds as guests, and we wanted to bring that same reliable, elevated experience to campers visiting Zion,” said Noah and Sydni Ferber, owners of the Zion National Park KOA Holiday. “Whether traveling with family or seeking a solo escape, we’ve designed our campground to give campers a restful and convenient stay.”
In addition, Brent Crosby is the new owner of the Manti-La Sal KOA Holiday. With more than 12 years of real estate investing experience, Brent brings a passion for property development and a love for outdoor family adventures to his first KOA campground. His personal connection to the area–his grandmother grew up nearby–further fuels his desire to maintain the campground’s high standards and support the local community.
Nestled in the heart of Utah, the Manti-La Sal KOA Holiday sits at the gateway to the Arapeen Trail system and Manti-La Sal National Forest. Surrounded by mountain vistas and offering easy access to more than 350 miles of ATV and UTV trails, the campground is quickly becoming a go-to destination for adventurers and families alike.
Lastly, the Hill City/Needles Highway KOA Holiday was added to the KOA family of campgrounds. With nearly two decades of experience as a KOA franchisee, and extensive experience in the outdoor hospitality industry, campground owner Walt Hodgson and his team bring a passion for camping and community engagement. As the current owners of the Custer/Crazy Horse/Black Hills KOA Holiday, just 20-30 miles away, they have long admired the beauty of the Black Hills, particularly the iconic Needles Highway and have an established presence in the area.
Nestled in the heart of the Black Hills, Hill City/Needles Highway KOA Holiday is just minutes from Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial and the historic town of Hill City. Whether campers are seeking a convenient home base while chasing adventure in South Dakota’s rugged landscapes or looking for a relaxing retreat, this campground provides an unbeatable location with easy access to national parks, lakes, and historic sites. The views of the surrounding mountains and the central location make it an ideal getaway for campers.
