KOA Named a Top Franchise in 2026 by Franchise Business Review

Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA), a leader in outdoor hospitality, has once again been recognized in Franchise Business Review (FBR)’s Top 200 Franchises list, ranking No. 61 overall in 2026. KOA also ranked No. 24 out of 50 brands in the Enterprise size class and No. 2 in the Recreation category, reflecting strong franchisee satisfaction across the system, KOA said in a recent release.

FBR Satisfaction Awards Top Franchises 2026Rankings based on franchisee satisfaction

For more than 20 years, FBR has identified the top franchise opportunities in North America using independent, third-party research, publishing its annual franchise rankings based on survey feedback from franchise owners. Unlike lists built primarily on financial performance or brand size, FBR’s rankings are rooted in franchisee satisfaction and system performance indicators.

KOA was one of more than 330 franchise brands representing over 26,000 franchise owners that participated in FBR’s 2026 research. Franchisees evaluated their experience across 33 core benchmarks, including training and support, operations, franchisor-franchisee relations, leadership, culture and financial opportunity.

“We are especially encouraged by what the FBR ranking represents, which is strong satisfaction from the owners and operators who bring KOA to life every day,” said Toby O’Rourke, president and CEO of KOA. “Our focus will always remain on supporting franchisees with the tools and operational resources they need to grow thriving businesses and provide great outdoor experiences for campers.”

Support designed to help franchisees succeed

KOA provides campground owners and operators with support across marketing, technology, education, design and ongoing system resources, helping drive operational efficiencies while strengthening guest experiences. As the brand continues to expand nationwide, KOA said it remains committed to its mission of connecting people to the outdoors and each other.

“Franchisee satisfaction is one of the most reliable indicators of long-term franchise performance,” said Michelle Rowan, president of Franchise Business Review. “This year’s Top Franchise winners significantly outperformed industry averages, demonstrating strength in the areas that matter most to franchise owners: leadership, support, innovation, culture and financial opportunity. These brands are not just growing, they are building healthy, resilient systems.”
