Kampgrounds of America and the RV industry team producing “RVX: The RV Experience” have joined forces to build a “Campground of the Future” display during the inaugural event in Salt Lake City, March 12-14.

The display will cover 600 square feet of space in the Salt Palace, and will showcase the future of campground modernization, KOA stated. Ideas and inspiration for the Campground of the Future will come directly from KOA’s research into the expectations of new campers, including Millennials, as well as from their direct experience in designing and developing campgrounds. The intent of the display is to inspire the industry to work towards accommodating the needs of all campers in the future.

“We are very excited to be working with RVX and the RV Industry Association on this exciting effort that is critical to our respective industries,” said Toby O’Rourke, president of KOA. “We know through research that the desires of campers are constantly evolving. We are looking at how advancements in technology and travel will impact camping making it even more accessible and enriching, without changing the wonderful, natural outdoor experience that campers and RVers are seeking.”

The Campground of the Future display will feature a large, 3D model of what various models of campgrounds could look like, and how they will accommodate all types of RVs. The space will also feature interactive displays showcasing how technology may impact other aspects of the guest experience from reservations to recreation and on-site service.

“In addition to the Campground of the Future display, KOA will be presenting highlights from their new 2019 North American Camping Report, alongside other outdoor industry stakeholders, during an educational session on Wednesday, March 13 at RVX,” said Liz Crawford, senior VP at RV Industry Association. “This partnership with KOA is exciting for the industry and for the show. KOA will be providing insight on campground use and how dealers and the industry can work together to enhance the customer experience and grow the RVing and camping lifestyle.”
