Lippert Holds Panel Build To Benefit Habitat for Humanity

According to an article from The Goshen News, nearly 50 employees of Lippert Plant 85 in Goshen took time away from their normal responsibilities to participate in a panel build to benefit Habitat for Humanity Thursday. The constructed panels will be used as the framework for a house that will be owned by Holley Dercach and her son, Jayvion Wilson, who also were part of the morning’s building crew.

“The really cool thing about this is we talk about how culture is a big part of who we are and what we do at Lippert,” Plant 85 General Manager Rudy Kusher said. “We define culture by ‘people like us do things like this,’ and I think this is an excellent display of that for our team, to get a chance to come off the production floor for a few hours and participate in a build. By the end of today, in three hours, we’re going to have an entire house framed up and be able to support a family, which is a really cool thing and a powerful event for our team.”

The morning’s build consisted of two 90-minute shifts of Plant 85 employees, with between 20-25 men and women in each group. Members of the first shift spent their time framing both exterior and interior walls while the second group framed the house together in the plant’s parking lot.
