LSI Awards Top-Performing Jellystone Parks

Leisure Systems Inc. (LSI) recently presented its annual awards to exemplary Jellystone Park Camp-Resort franchisees throughout the U.S. and Canada. The awards were issued on the final day of LSI’s annual symposium at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Ky., in the following categories:

Camp-Resort of the Year – Tyler, Texas
Regional Camp-Resorts of the Year:

  • Eastern Region: Mill Run, Pa.
  • Central Region: Warrens, Wis.
  • Southern Region: Tabor City, N.C.
  • Western Region: Tyler, Texas

Entrepreneur of the Year – This award is presented to the Camp-Resorts with the strongest year-over-year revenue growth. This year’s recipients:

  • Tabor City, N.C., more than $1 million revenue category
  • Gloucester Point, Va., $500,000 to $1 million revenue category
  • Bath, N.Y., less than $500,000 revenue category

Multi-Unit Entrepreneur of the Year – This award is presented to the Camp-Resort location with the strongest year-over-year revenue growth that is owned by a multi-unit franchisee. This year’s recipient is: Lodi, Calif., (owned by Northgate Resorts)

Operator of the Year – This award is given to the individual or individuals directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Camp-Resort locations that best represents excellence in management, improved ratings and growth in business:

  • Emily Moss, Cave City, Ky., in the category for parks with more than 225 sites
  • Rebecca Murphy, Tabor City, N.C., in the category for parks with less than 225 sites

Franchise Inspection Leader, “The Carroll Award” – This award is given to the Camp-Resort that achieved the highest assessment rating out of all Jellystone Park locations in the system: South Haven, Mich.

Jim Webb Spirit Award – This award, named after an individual who played a major role in the success of the Jellystone Park franchise, is presented to the franchisee who best embodies the same spirit, enthusiasm and commitment to Jellystone Parks that Webb displayed: Nancy and Rich Felber, Mount Gilead, Ohio.

Maple Leaf Award – This award is presented to the Canadian franchisee who best demonstrates their commitment and dedication to the Jellystone Park system: Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada.

Facility of the Year – This award is presented to the Camp-Resort locations that have shown sustained improvements to their facilities:

  • Williamsport, Md., in the category for parks with more than 225 sites.
  • Tyler, Texas, in the category for parks with less than 225 sites

Dan O’Connell Service Award – This award recognizes an individual’s strong support and work to improve and grow the campground industry: Rick Spear, Estes Park, Colo.
