MDC USA Unveils 22-Foot Flagship Travel Trailer Built for US Market
MDC USA has unveiled the XT22HRT Off-Grid Extreme, a new 22-foot flagship that takes the OEM’s Off-Grid Extreme range further than ever before.
The largest MDC travel trailer ever built for the U.S. market, the XT22HRT becomes the eighth model in MDC USA’s Off-Grid Extreme lineup, extending a range that now spans from the ultra-compact 9-foot XT9 through to the new 22-foot flagship.
Arriving across the MDC USA dealer network in early 2027, the XT22HRT combines more space, more off-grid capacity and greater comfort with several major new features, including the first dedicated integrated external Entertainment Hub ever offered on an Off-Grid Extreme model.
The Entertainment Hub brings together a Jensen 43-inch smart TV, Dometic 60L compressor fridge, Fusion marine stereo with 6-inch speakers, phone charging dock, HDMI connectivity and 12-volt LED mood lighting, creating a genuine outdoor living and entertaining zone alongside the trailer’s external kitchen.

The XT22HRT also brings 1,500Ah of Renogy lithium battery capacity, 1,400 watts of rooftop solar (expandable to 2,000 watts via the three dedicated portable solar inputs), 93 gallons of fresh water, dual-zone heating and cooling, three distinct interior living zones and nearly 2,000 pounds of cargo carrying capacity to the top of the Off-Grid Extreme range.
MDC USA founder and President Vaughan Hindley said the new flagship reflected both MDC’s experience in the U.S. and the way customers increasingly want to use their travel trailers.
“I’ve personally spent a lot of time overlanding across the U.S. with our trailers, and you quickly learn that serious capability is only half the equation. You need confidence in the trailer getting you there, but you also need to be able to live properly and enjoy yourself once you arrive,” Hindley said.
“The XT19HRT has become our most popular Off-Grid Extreme model, and there has been clear demand for us to take that concept further with more space, capability and comfort. This style of layout has also proven incredibly popular across our Australian ranges. We know how well it works in the real world, and I genuinely think U.S. travelers are going to love what we have created with the XT22HRT. It is without question our most extreme travel trailer yet.”
One of the most visible changes on the XT22HRT is also a first for the Off-Grid Extreme range. The dedicated external integrated Entertainment Hub has been designed to turn the area beneath the patio awning into a genuine second living zone.
At its center is a Jensen 43-inch smart TV, supported by a Dometic 60L compressor fridge, Fusion marine stereo with 6-inch speakers, phone charging dock, RCA and HDMI points and 12-volt LED mood lighting. Combined with the XT22HRT’s external kitchen, it creates an outdoor setup designed for everything from evenings at a remote campsite to entertaining friends or setting up for a game-day tailgate.
