Meyer’s RV Superstores Expands into Pennsylvania

Meyer’s RV Superstores, which has five stores in New York, is planning to open a location at 7301 Allentown Blvd. in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, Pa.

This story by Jason Scott originally appeared in the Central Penn Business Journal.

Owner Mark Meyer said the decision to open a store in Central Pennsylvania was based on market experience from past years as a sponsor of RV shows in Hershey and Harrisburg.

The store also is along a growing commercial corridor and near Camping World, a major competitor.

“I don’t mind being near other dealers,” Meyer said. “In fact, I prefer it. I believe the competition not only makes you better but also drives more people to the area to shop.”

In 2004, Meyer sold his original RV business to Camping World. As the RV industry boomed with shipments rising from 285,749 nationwide in 2012 to 504,600 by 2016, he reassembled his team and started Meyer’s RV Superstores.

The new store will be open every day offering RV sales, service and parts. A rental business may be added in the future. Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
