Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort locations have been named contenders in the annual National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) Park of the Year awards competition.
This year, there are 16 campgrounds across the nation vying for the Park of the Year honor in the medium-size park category and of those, nine nominees are Jellystone Park locations. The Jellystone Park contenders are located in Canyon Lake, Texas; Gloucester Point, Va.; Harrisville, Penn.; Horn Lake, Miss., (which serves the Memphis, Tenn., market); Kerrville, Texas; Luray, Va.; Quarryville, Penn.; Tyler, Texas; and Wichita Falls, Texas.
In the Park of the Year award category for large parks, four of the 12 total nominees are Jellystone Park locations: Gardiner, N.Y.; Lodi, Calif.; Mammoth Cave, Ky.; and Williamsport, Md.
The Jellystone Park location in Harrisville, Penn. is also one of this year’s three nominees competing for ARVC’s Plan-It-Green Award, which recognizes parks with exemplary business practices that protect the environment.
Award winners will be announced Nov. 4-7 in Knoxville, Tenn., during ARVC’s Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo.
“It is great to see so many Jellystone Park locations competing for so many prestigious awards at the national level at a time when we are also experiencing the strongest sales in the 50-year history of the Jellystone Park franchise network,” said Trent Hershenson, VP of marketing for Leisure Systems, which franchises more than 75 Yogi Bear-themed campgrounds across the U.S. and Canada.
