National Go RVing Day Reaches Over 4M Viewers
The third annual National Go RVing Day took place this past Saturday, June 8.
The special day, which calls on RV industry companies and consumers alike to celebrate the joys of RVing, was a hit on social media. Additionally, national and local news segments brought RVing to over 4 million people across the country.
“It is really impressive how the industry has made National Go RVing Day their own. It is thanks to all of the member companies who shared National Go RVing Day with their audiences, whether through social media, videos, articles, word of mouth, or any other method that have made this a success,” said Monika Geraci, director of PR and communications for the RV Industry Association (RVIA) and Go RVing. “We look forward to growing National Go RVing Day even more next year.”
On social media alone, the #NationalGoRVingDay hashtag has been used over 2,100 times on Facebook and 1,300 on Instagram. Likewise, several companies also made YouTube videos for National Go RVing Day, and some even ran special promotions in honor of the day.
Meanwhile, a local TV segment about National Go RVing Day was syndicated to 155 stations and viewed by an estimated 3.6 million individuals. Stations that carried the segment were in cities across the country, including New York City; Los Angeles; Chicago; Atlanta; San Antonio, Texas; Tampa, Florida; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Spokane, Washington.
An additional 1 million people watched as auto expert and Go RVing spokesperson Mike Caudill went live on Fox & Friends highlighting the upcoming National Go RVing Day with a campground and RVs in downtown New York.
Established by Go RVing, the RV Industry Association’s marketing and consumer awareness arm, National Go RVing Day is an opportunity for the RV industry to highlight the benefits of RVing and an active outdoor lifestyle. The day takes place each year on the second Saturday in June. In preparation, Go RVing released a toolkit that industry partners used to promote the day to their audiences. It includes a promotional timeline, logos, social media video and graphics, sample social media copy and sample article copy.
