This past Tuesday at the 2022 Newmar dealer event, Vice President of Sales John Sammut highlighted new year model changes.
Newmar asked that the information be held until today due to a live streaming event that Marketing Manager Shannon Stover and her team were conducting on Thursday. The event had more than 8,500 sign-ups as of Wednesday night.
For 2021, Dutch Star became the No. 1 Class A diesel motorhome for the first time in its history. One prominent dealer said he thought that one of 2023’s floorplan models would potentially exceed the most popular floorplan from the 2022 model year.
Along with Essex and Bay Star, the Dutch Star was up for life cycle change this year, which included new front and rear caps, new furniture, new fascia, fixtures, cabinetry and exterior paint and graphics, to name a few items.
The three most impressive additions across many of Newmar’s units were the beverage center, Euro dinette and lithium battery systems, the latter of which was brought to market in 2023 by consumer feedback and demand.
The Euro dinette, which exists on the new Dutch Star, has a rotating functionality, where customers can have it horizontal to the coach and look out the window or pull out the table (much like a dining room leaflet, rotate the table 90 degrees and have it vertical to the side of the coach, fitting four chairs.
The beverage center, which resides next to the kitchen on the right-hand side of the counter, was the third item that impressed RV PRO. The top portion includes a stemware cabinet for wine glasses and then below there is a wine chiller refrigerator.
Bay Star: Specific changes to the Bay Star model year lineup include increasing the ceilings from 80 inches to 84 inches. Seven models include an over-the-cab-bunk. Williamsburg furniture in the Bay Star has an all-new design for 2023. There are also new fixtures and sinks in the bathrooms.
Essex: The Essex offers the 4521 and 4595 floorplans for 2023. The latter has the option for the beverage center with stemware rack and wine cooler. It also features a high-quality Bosch refrigerator. The refrigerator is flanked by two storage cabinets with feet to them that give it a decorative look that is reminiscent of many home features.
Dutch Star: Dutch Star will have Mobile Eye lane tracking and departure warning system as a standard feature. This is also true for Ventana and Kountry Star.
For 2023, Newmar has come up with two new floorplans for the Dutch Star, the 4071 and 4370. They include a standard Euro booth dinette facing the patio and a HWH slide out mechanism above the floor. The Dutch Star is also one of the units with the option for a Lithionics battery system. The battery system has two 320-amp battery packs, with the options for third. This package is also available on the Mountain Aire, London Aire and Supreme Aire.
