Palo Alto, Calif.-based Nimble, a pet technology company that targets, among others, the RV industry with its products, has acquired Waggle Ventures Inc., a social platform for pet owners. The company has also announced that Waggle founder Matthew Cavnar will stay on board as an advisor to support Nimble.
Nimble’s solutions feature innovative pet sensors and wearables and what it said is the industry’s first cloud-based mobile app that serves as a one-stop solution for pet health, safety and fitness. Nimble said the acquisition will further boost its growing customer base through Waggle’s vast social media network. The company has more than 10,000 customers across the US and aims to grow that aggressively in the next 18 months.
Nimble notes that roughly 11 million U.S. households own an RV and there are currently 5 million RV owners who travel with their dogs. More than 15 million Americans use an RV at least once in a year and this trend is increasing given the current social distancing safeguards created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
