The National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) announced its acquisition of the Recreational Vehicle Service Academy (RVSA), an esteemed RV technician training school founded in 1986 and based in Florida.

The strategic move marks a significant milestone in NRVTA’s expansion plans for its educational and association programs, reaffirming its dedication to delivering comprehensive RV education and positively impacting the RV community.

Michael Tibbs, owner of RVSA, expressed his confidence in NRVTA’s ability to continue the academy’s legacy. “I wanted the school to go to the NRVTA because they are a credible organization. I knew they would honor the existing students and provide a way for our graduates to keep their certification. I wanted to make sure there was always a path forward, and now, they would be in good hands.”

RVSA has been a cornerstone in RV technician training, offering hands-on courses that culminate in the prestigious Master RV Technician certification. Over the years, RVSA has been recognized for its high standards and comprehensive training programs, producing skilled technicians who are well-prepared to meet the demands of the RV service industry.

As part of the acquisition, RVSA members will be offered membership to the Recreational Vehicle Technician Association of America (RVTAA). This membership includes benefits such as special rate insurance for mobile technicians and access to the national technician and inspector locator, a tool that connects certified technicians with customers in need of RV services. The RVTAA, currently at 1,500 independent members, is expected to see an influx of up to 300 new mobile technicians from RVSA, further extending its reach and enhancing the RV service experience nationwide.

Kelly Bradley, NRVTA’s chief operating officer, said, “We are thrilled to welcome RVSA into the NRVTA family. This acquisition aligns with our mission to expand the RVTAA by providing more skilled technicians on the road. By integrating RVSA’s graduates into our programs, we can significantly enhance our efforts to improve the RV experience for people nationwide. The influx of RVSA graduates will bolster our ranks and ensure that more RV owners receive top-notch service wherever they travel.”

The NRVTA is committed to honoring the legacy of RVSA and ensuring a seamless transition for all future students and graduates. This acquisition is a testament to NRVTA’s dedication to fostering a community of skilled professionals who are equipped to meet the evolving needs of the RV industry.
