OHI To Offer Discounted Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification Training

OHI announced that registration is now open for the Fall Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification Training, taking place Sept. 15 (9 a.m.–5 p.m. CST) & 16 (9 a.m.–3 p.m. CST) via Zoom. Offered at a discount to active OHI members, this two-day online course is designed to help outdoor hospitality operators and their teams maintain confidence and compliance in pool and spa operations year-round, OHI said.

Led by Terry Munoz, CPO, OHC, OHI board member, OHI Foundation board chair and Certified Pool Instructors professional, the training provides essential instruction on proper pool operations, water safety and regulatory compliance.

This course will help you understand how to:

  • Operate a pool more easily and efficiently — saving time and money.
  • Reduce chemical, electrical, biological and physical hazards — protecting users and employees.
  • Comply to key safety regulations — reducing liability and risk of closure.

“Proper pool operation and water safety are essential for every outdoor hospitality business offering aquatic amenities,” said Munoz. “This training equips operators and their staff with an understanding of the critical components of compliance and safety before closing out the season.”

Register for the Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification Training here.

This training is 100% online and offered at a flat fee of $390 for active OHI members. While the majority of states accept virtual CPO training, participants are encouraged to confirm any additional requirements with their local health departments. OHI encouraged members to register early, as course materials must be shipped in advance. Note that this is the final CPO training offered by OHI for 2026.
