On Aug. 1, 24 aspiring female RV technicians will begin their training to become certified RV technicians. Selected from over 100 applications, these 24 women will receive the RV Technical Institute’s gold standard training thanks to a partnership between the RV Women’s Alliance and the RV Technical Institute. Ten of the trainees are brand new to the RV industry and have been drawn to the course because of the great opportunity for a career as an RV technician.

“We were blown away by the interest in this course. And because the interest was so high, we doubled the number of spots available from 12 to 24,” said Tracy Angelmeyer, RV Technical Institute director of recruitment and RV Women’s Alliance board member. “The RV Technical Institute and the RV Women’s Alliance are very aligned in the value we place on education and providing the skills to people in our industry to succeed and grow in their careers, so it just makes sense for us to partner together on this opportunity to train more women RV technicians.”

Through the partnership, the RV Technical Institute is providing training free of charge and the RV Women’s Alliance is providing scholarships to cover the hotel stay for students during the week of their training. The RV Technical Institute will also assist graduates of the program with job placement with one of their Authorized Learning Partners.

“We are very excited to be partnering with the RV Technical Institute to provide this incredible training opportunity to women in our industry,” said RV Women’s Alliance President Susan Carpenter. “There is such a need for trained and certified RV technicians and the RV Technical Institute has the best program around to prepare aspiring RV techs for a successful career.”

In addition to receiving training free of cost, Veurink RV Center, Mobile RV Pro, Go Power!, Truck System Technologies, and Pinnacle Appliances are sponsoring daily lunches for the trainings.

“The response from sponsors has been awesome,” Carpenter added. “Not only did they step up to provide lunch to the trainees, but these companies are also taking time to share insights and opportunities for the women about the RV industry as they complete their certification.”

The RV Women’s Alliance and the RV Technical Institute will also host a meet-and-greet open house from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the RV Technical Institute at 3333 Middlebury St, Elkhart, Indiana. Members of the RV Women’s Alliance – and the wider RV industry – are invited to attend and meet the trainees.
