Outdoor Accommodation Platform Surpasses £500M in Global Bookings

As camping and glamping continue their rise as mainstream travel choices, UK-based outdoor accommodation booking platform Pitchup.com has reached a major milestone, surpassing £500 million in total global bookings and earning a spot among the top 50 largest Online Travel Agencies worldwide by organic traffic.
Pitchup.com ranks 36th globally and 6th among Europe-focused travel companies.
Founded in 2009, Pitchup.com is now outperforming several hotel and holiday rental platforms, signaling a broader shift in interest toward outdoor travel stays. The platform connects travelers with more than 5,900 outdoor accommodation locations across 67 countries, offering everything from traditional campgrounds to glamping escapes, and serving more than 38 million visitors annually.
Recent booking trends underscore this shift. Valentine’s Day weekend bookings rose 25% year-over-year, reflecting growing demand for quieter, off-peak romantic getaways that offer both better value and more meaningful experiences. At the same time, European markets are seeing accelerated interest, with Portugal (+134%), Hungary (+70%), and Germany (+70%) among the fastest-growing destinations in January, signaling travelers’ expanding appetite for outdoor stays across both established and lesser-known regions.
