Overview of RVIA’s 2025 Regulatory & Safety Compliance Seminar
The RV Industry Association (RVIA)’s Regulatory & Safety Compliance Seminar, which took place on Wednesday, July 30, in Elkhart, Indiana, was another successful educational opportunity for the industry with nearly 100 members in attendance from over 19 manufacturers and 19 supplier companies.
The keynote presentation was given by Leo Akins, corporate general manager at Forest River. The presentation, titled “Creating a Safety Culture,” covered how to develop a safety culture in an organization from the top down.
Following the keynote presentation, there were panels consisting of industry compliance veterans, where there was great audience engagement during the Q&A portions. The panelists discussed optimizing data analytics, parts traceability, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration‘s enforcement focus, recall completion efforts and more.
David Stevenson, quality team leader at ATC Trailers and seminar panelist, said, “The RV Industry Association’s Regulatory & Safety Compliance Seminar is a great opportunity to network with many knowledgeable and experienced people in this sector of the RV industry. Every time I learn new things and gain insight into how our company can be more successful in managing recalls. It is great to know that there are people and resources available to help navigate compliance with these safety and recall requirements.”
“Every year gets better, and this year was the best yet. I think we had more people contribute with great questions and interaction. I really enjoyed being a part of the panels and discussions. I want to give a huge thank you to everyone that gave their time and put in so much effort for this year’s seminar,” added Mike Becker, head of compliance at Forest River and chair of the RV Industry Association’s Regulatory & Safety Compliance Subcommittee, who was also the emcee of the event as well as moderator and panelist.
The RV Industry Association thanked seminar sponsors THOR Industries, Winnebago Industries, Forest River Inc., Lippert, Dometic and Dexter. Thanks to their generous support, this event was free for RV Industry Association members.
