Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat Show Canceled
The largest boat show in the Midwest has been canceled due to COVID-19. Scheduled for Jan. 6-10, the Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat Show showcases many retailers in the boating, sailing and RV industries.
According to the Northern Indiana Times, the National Marine Manufacturers Association, the leading association for the recreational boating industry, has rescheduled the annual show for Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center from Jan. 12-16 in 2022.
“This was a difficult decision and was made with the health and safety of our guests, exhibitors and employees top of mind,” said Show Manager Keith Ogulnick. “Following a thorough analysis regarding the feasibility of the show, this is the most prudent course of action, and we look forward to the show returning in 2022.”
More than 90 years old, the boat show not far from the shores of Lake Michigan, typically features more than 600 boats and more than 100 RVs from leading manufacturers, according to the Times.
