Canada’s Roulottes ProLite, makers of ultralight and motorized RVs, has a new owner: Frédéric Delwich.

The announcement was made by the founder, Martin James.

“I’ve thought about this important decision for a long time,” James said. “At the end, I concluded that I am not the right person to transition ProLite into the new technology and digital world. As the founder, it was my duty to take the decision in the best interest of the business and our employees as well as our dealers and loyal customers.

“When we met Frédéric, Isabelle and I understood that we’d found the right person to lead Prolite’s expansion and growth through a technological and digital transformation. Frédéric will also be maintaining what we are known for the last 22 years that I’ve been so proud of. Today, I’m passing on the torch to Frédéric, who has made a huge contribution to the growth of businesses the size of Prolite, especially by focusing on the human resources, the information technologies and the manufacturing automation.”

Added Delwiche, the new president and owner: “Over the past 20 years I’ve taken part in the growth, either internally or through acquisition, of several (small/medium size businesses), working alongside the owners. Throughout my career, I always knew that someday I’d have my own manufacturing company where I could bring my values, my vision and my know-how. When the opportunity popped up with ProLite, I knew immediately that it was the right one. ProLite is a strong company, a leader in its market, and it was managed by Martin, who has the same values and the same believe for potential growth. During our discussions, the most important thing was always to ensure a smooth transition, between myself and Martin to ensure the business continuity for our clients and dealers. That’s why Martin will remain very closely involved in the business for the coming years to make sure I learn from his knowledge and experiences. I would like also to reassure our Canadian and U.S. dealers; Brad Harvey will continue with us and remain your first point of contact.”

Delwiche said the company’s production capacity has increased by 20%, meaning all purchase orders that have been received have already been planned. Also in 2023, ProLite’s Evolution Van is getting a new frame: a Dodge Promaster 2500. Additional announcements from the company will be likely forthcoming, the company said.
