Prospective Owners Workshop Returns to OHCE2025
At OHI’s 2025 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE), aspiring campground, RV park and glamping resort owners can take their first big step toward ownership with a specially curated workshop built to inspire and equip them. The Prospective Owners Workshop (POW!), happening Sunday, Nov. 9, 2–6:30 p.m. at the Kentucky International Convention Center, offers a guided “freshman orientation” before the full conference officially kicks off.
This half-day workshop is designed for those who are dreaming about ownership or actively planning to buy or build. Participants will be introduced to the core principles of running a successful outdoor hospitality business with expert guidance, exploring key topics like due diligence, site planning, budgeting, infrastructure and operations must-knows. Interactive group sessions split between “building” and “buying” let participants tackle challenges head-on and leave with practical solutions they can immediately apply.
“Building or buying a campground is exciting, but it can feel like stepping into the unknown,” said David Basler, chief strategy officer at OHI. “POW! gives prospective owners a clear roadmap, a support network, and the confidence to walk into OHCE® ready to make the most of every opportunity.”
Beyond the classroom-style learning, POW! also creates an important sense of community. It is a chance to ask candid questions in a low-pressure setting and begin building a network of peers and mentors before stepping into the larger OHCE experience.
By the time the full conference begins, POW! attendees will already have their bearings, their network, and their game plan. A game plan that opens doors to the right conversations and helps avoid costly missteps on the road to ownership.
The workshop is available as a $229 add-on to OHCE2025 registration. Space is limited, making this early session an essential first step for anyone preparing to enter the Outdoor Hospitality Industry.
