Protective Asset Protection’s Jaime E. Pais Dies

Pais

Jaime E. Pais, longtime employee of Protective Asset Protection, died Saturday, July 27. She was 48.

The following obituary for Pais is from the Hutchens Funeral Homes website:

Jaime Elizabeth Pais, 48, left this world too early on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

The cherished wife of Andy Pais for 21 years; devoted mother to Patrick Thomas Koch and Emory Andrew Pais; beloved daughter of Thomas R. and Constance Koch (née Brunnert); dear sister of Laurie Bauer (Adam); cherished daughter in law of Jerome and Cynthia Pais; dear sister in law of Melanie Anderson (Jeromy); loving aunt of Tommy Bauer and Collin Bauer, Kayden Anderson, Connor Anderson and Kendall Anderson.

Jaime worked at Protective for just under 20 years. She had a passion for the work that she did but truly enjoyed the relationships with those she worked with at her home office, corporate office, and throughout the industry. Jaime’s final position with the company was senior director of product development but always aspired for the next level of responsibility or next challenge in her career while also trying to uplift those around her.

In her spare time, Jaime enjoyed hiking, gardening, baking and traveling to new places around the world. She had a thirst for new experiences and always said, “When I die, I’m not going to wish I had done less.” She lived her life to the fullest, always having a project or a destination in mind. Any time spent with Jaime was a party, she was the arbiter of fun at all times. Her biggest joy in life, however, was spending time with Patrick and Emory. Whether it was watching Patrick climb at his local climbing gym or cheering Emory on at a high school wrestling tournament, she always wanted to be there to support them. She was so proud of both boys, not only of their accomplishments but for the quality of young men that they had become. She enjoyed listening to and learning about their favorite styles of music and always had time for a chat about what was happening in their lives. She enjoyed making a special dish or dessert for them and would sit back and smile while she watched them enjoy it. She loved being a mother to her boys more than anything in the world and would put the rest of life on pause to be by their side.

She was always thought of by her niece and nephews as the aunt who would go that extra mile to make a good time a little better. Never being the first to tell them it’s time for bed but always being the first to suggest ice cream. She also enjoyed being a “next door aunt” to our neighbors Lucy and Ellie. She would not miss a chance to braid their hair or learn about the latest Disney shows, always thinking of them as the little girls she never had.

It saddens us deeply to have lost Jaime way too soon but we will carry the many happy memories of her in our hearts forever. She was a very special person. Bold, smart and funny with a personality and laugh that touched everyone she came into contact with. She always had a soft spot for people in need, she loved helping animals, and would always take the time to listen to someone’s story about their life experiences.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jaime’s memory can be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Planned Parenthood, or a charity of your choice.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Sept. 28 from noon until 5 p.m. in the Lodge at Quail Ridge Park in Wentzville, Missouri.
