Ray Andro, Hemlock Hill RV, Passes Away

The RV Dealers Association Friday said it regrets to inform its membership and the public of the passing of Raymond L. Andro, a founder of Hemlock Hill RV in Southington, Conn., who died on Aug. 26 after a battle with lung cancer. Ray is the father of RVDA First Vice Chairman, Chris Andro.

Ray, his wife Brenda and their three children, Chris, Michelle, and Jason founded Hemlock Hill Camp Resort in Litchfield, Conn., in 1976. Hemlock Hill RV was a natural outgrowth of the camp resort. The company first started with five Nomad travel trailers in May of 1985, selling and servicing from the camp property. Ray was very active in many of the RV and campground industry organizations, including serving as president of the Connecticut Campground Owners Association and he was appointed to the Governor’s Travel Council.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning in Waterbury, Conn.

The RVDA said that in lieu of flowers, Ray would appreciate a donation to one of the following organizations: Make-A-Wish of Connecticut, (ct.wish.org/ways-to-help), or Camp Mattatuck, (campmattatuck.org/volunteers.
