California-based manufacturer Four Wheel Campers, which offers a range of customizable pop-up campers for pickup trucks, officially launched its CampOut series, introducing a modular slide-in pop-up truck camper designed for versatile customization and outdoor exploration. Truck campers let users pair their ideal camper with their preferred truck — choosing the right size, engine power and off-road capabilities for their needs.
CampOut takes that flexibility even further, the company said, by providing a modular platform that allows users to start with limited modules, a fully equipped setup or a custom mix, with the ability to add and remove modules at any time. “This series combines modular design and lightweight durability, providing a highly adaptable camper for any journey,” said Larry Baab, CEO and board member of Four Wheel Campers.
The “Build Your Way” Modular System
CampOut introduces the “Build Your Way” philosophy, allowing camping enthusiasts to take control over their layout and features by utilizing easy-to-add and remove modules.
CampOut modules:
- Power Module (Standard): Lithium battery, smart monitor, multiple power ports and solar compatibility. Upgrades available for a second battery, 2000-watt inverter and up to 500 watts of roof-mounted solar panels.
- Utility Module (Standard): Secure interior and exterior storage, optional propane heating and portable induction or propane stoves.
- Water Module (Optional): Built-in sink, portable Dometic 12-volt faucet, removable water jugs for fresh and gray water storage, and alternative storage options.
- Fridge Module (Optional): Comes with a Dometic CFX chest fridge and alternative storage options.
- Seating Module (Optional): Configurations vary by truck size, including bench seating or a front dinette layout with a Lagun swivel table.
Built with lightweight yet durable materials including modern bamboo countertops, slotted aluminum extrusions, polypropylene honeycomb panels and HDPE doors with compression latches, CampOut is designed to handle tough environments.

CampOut fits nearly every truck on the market, including midsize (5-foot and 6-foot beds) and full-size (5-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot beds) with starting weights as low as 860 pounds for the mid-size 5-foot model and 1,030 pounds for the full-size 8 foot. Pricing starts at $25,995 for 5-foot and 6-foot models, and $26,995 for 8-foot models.
