Rear View Safety will present at the Vision Zero Fleet Safety Forum in Queens, N.Y., at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The Vision Zero Safety Fleet Forum is sponsored by NYC Fleet. The annual event brings together professionals representing private fleets, safety equipment suppliers, federal, state and city agencies and universities focusing on the collective goal of vehicle safety. The forum is used to exchange best practices, promote cutting edge vehicle safety technology and provide education to fleet managers about Vision Zero.

Rear View Safety’s Director of Sales Jean-Paul Weaver is part of the lineup of speakers presenting at the Safety Forum. Weaver will discuss the dangers of drowsy driving and driver fatigue, as well as ways to combat this dangerous epidemic.

According the National Sleep Foundation, 60 percent of adult drivers have driven while drowsy and 37 percent have fallen asleep at the wheel. Drowsy driving claimed 846 lives in 2014, according the NHTSA.

“Drowsy driving is a preventable problem,” said Weaver. “As a strong safety leader and advocate, it’s important that we are all on the same page about this issue. Everyone needs to understand best practices and learn about the most up-to-date safety technology.”
