RecNation Storage, a leading owner, operator and developer of specialized RV and boat storage facilities in the United States, announced the closing of its latest property in Fruitland Park, Florida, with a new acquisition positioned near “The Villages” in the Orlando area.
This marks RecNation’s sixth location in the Orlando market, underscoring its commitment to meeting the needs of recreational enthusiasts. This latest acquisition complements RecNation’s dedication to providing exceptional service and convenience for customers nationwide.
This acquisition is strategically located adjacent to the eastern entrance of The Villages, the world’s largest and fastest-growing retirement community, with over 150,000 residents spanning 32 square miles across 17 community developments. The Villages has been the top-selling planned community for the past 11 years and has experienced a 40% population increase over the last decade, making it one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. Approximately 70 million Baby Boomers are expected to retire by 2030, and “Boomers” represent about 50% of all RV owners and 28% of all boat owners in the U.S. With this acquisition, RecNation said it is well-positioned to meet current and future storage needs in this highly desirable market, which attracts many seasonal residents.
The area contributes to the estimated one million people who spend part of the year in Florida causing the population to increase significantly during the winter months. Additionally, the state welcomes 122 million tourists each year who come to visit all the state has to offer. This steady growth underscores the area’s rising popularity, making it an attractive destination for both new residents and seasonal visitors.
RecNation’s newest facility spans close to 20 acres, providing ample space for recreational vehicle and boat storage, making it the largest dedicated boat and RV facility in the area. This facility will offer fully enclosed units that afford the highest level of protection for the vehicles being stored, as well as canopy structures and open areas. Additionally, the facility will feature on-site dump stations, washdown areas, air compressors, and an on-site RV repair workshop.
