Redwood 412GK Fifth Wheel Has a ‘Surprising Layout’

The following is an OEM spotlight from Auto Evolution.

To quote one of the most iconic one-liners in cinema, “Some people just want to watch the world burn.” And then, some just want to relax in absolute comfort, travel around without a care and on their own terms, and NOT feel like they’re living below the standards they’re used to from home.

For the latter group, there’s the Redwood line of fifth-wheel RVs from Crossroads RV. Dubbed “the original Redwood” because it served as the basis of the Redwood Regency line of destination trailers, this 3-item lineup is what luxury living on the road looks like: spacious, with a focus on comfort and quality, feature-packed, and even suitable for full-time living.

The Redwood 412GK, or RW 412GK by its full name, is the biggest of the three Redwood floorplans, but strangely enough, that’s not what makes it such a standout. That would be the way it’s designed as a couple’s RV that lives like a castle on wheels, the RV variant of a deluxe condo, the kind you look at and live in and never feel like there’s something missing.

The Redwood series is relatively new to the Crossroads catalog, but it’s still getting upgrades with each new model year. For 2025, the entire series gets the new Frosted Emerald Full-Body Paint Package as an option, which is the one you’ll see on the unit toured in both videos available at the bottom of the page. It’s a striking color scheme that puts together greens, silver, and charcoal tones, with a high-gloss finish that creates an even more striking appearance.

Not that you’d have any trouble spotting the Redwood 412GK from afar, if only on account of its size. This is a big boy fifth wheeler, measuring 44.9 feet (13.7 meters) in total length and riding on a triple-axle custom chassis. This chassis is one of the first things that sets a Redwood apart from any other fifth wheeler, and it comes standard with Falcon 8,000-lb axles, MORryde suspension, self-adjusting drum brakes, and 6-point hydraulic jacks with auto-leveling.

The 412GK has four slide-outs in total that further expand available living space at camp, all of them larger in size than you’d expect. The rear ones are flush-floor slides, while the front ones sit higher than the RV floor, though that’s not an issue since they hold furniture pieces.

Designed as a couple’s RV, the 412GK can sleep as many as four people at once, though two of them aren’t exactly welcome for longer stays: they’re supposed to crash on the fold-out sofa in the living room, which is a communal space. The main bedroom is at the front, and it’s the definition of a private haven, with a master bathroom that laughs in the face of other RV bathrooms with a unique design, ample storage, and only the best features around.

Everything about the 412GK is blown up to size, from the kitchen, to the 65-inch smart TV and the massive electric fireplace underneath, to the amount of storage options available. Indeed, this is what makes this fifth wheeler perfect for full-term or seasonal living, since you obviously won’t be traveling with it that much given its size.

The layout puts the living room at the back, the bedroom at the front, and the huge kitchen in the middle. In between these, you also get a 4-person dinette that can also work as a home office, that residential-style bathroom with a surprising layout, all the conditions to create a nice outdoor lounge area, and – again – storage throughout.

The living room is fairly standard in layout but exceptional in finishes. It comes standard with the gorgeous entertainment wall, a his-and-hers pair of recliner seats with heat, massage, and underbody lights, and the sofa that turns into a guest bed.
