Renogy Empowers New MDC XT9 Off-Grid Extreme Off-Road Trailer

Renogy has partnered with MDC USA to integrate a factory-installed, turnkey off-grid power system into a new off-road trailer, eliminating the complexity of sourcing and assembling separate electrical components, Renogy said in a recent release.

Renogy’s smart power management technology has been factory-integrated into MDC USA’s new XT9 Off-Grid Extreme, a 15-foot off-road trailer designed for extended off-grid use. The XT9 is part of MDC USA’s Off-Grid Extreme lineup and is built to demonstrate how OEMs can deliver complete, pre-engineered energy solutions directly from the factory floor.

“With the XT9 Off-Grid Extreme, we wanted to deliver a trailer that provides true off-grid freedom right from the factory,” said Richie Fort, GM at MDC USA. “Renogy’s smart energy system makes it simple for travelers to enjoy self-sufficient adventures without compromising comfort or convenience.”

Integrated Power System for OEMs

At the core of the XT9 is a Renogy-engineered power package designed to meet the increasing demand for energy independence in light of rising fuel and energy costs, Renogy said. This comprehensive system includes 525 watts of rooftop solar, 400Ah Renogy lithium batteries, a 3,000-watt inverter and DC-to-DC charging, all unified through the Renogy One Core platform. The integrated architecture is designed to streamline installation and deliver a consistent, serviceable electrical solution.

Travelers can monitor and control power usage through the Renogy app, giving them remote insight and control over energy use for lighting, appliances and connectivity from the campsite or tow vehicle. This connected ecosystem is intended to reduce warranty risk and post-sale troubleshooting by providing standardized diagnostics and monitoring capabilities, the company said.

“Partnering with MDC USA allows us to showcase the full capabilities of our smart power management solutions,” said Tiffany Dorin, VP and head of operations for Renogy North America. “The XT9 demonstrates how integrated energy systems can transform the off-grid experience, giving adventurers reliable power and complete control over their energy usage.”

Turnkey Off-Grid Experience

The XT9’s Renogy system is factory-integrated and tested, providing end customers with a complete off-grid electrical platform that supports the XT9’s independent suspension, heating, kitchen, storage and entertainment systems in a compact design, Renogy said. This ready-to-camp product simplifies sales for dealers by eliminating extra electrical design, vendor coordination or installation. For buyers, the factory integration bundles energy, comfort and connectivity into a single, validated purchase.

Renogy’s OEM Platform & U.S. Expansion

The partnership with MDC USA on the XT9 Off-Grid Extreme is part of Renogy’s broader strategy to support RV and trailer manufacturers with standardized, factory-ready energy platforms, the company said. Renogy offers OEMs fully certified products, on-site engineering support, technical consultation, prototype assistance and training resources for dealer networks. These programs are designed to help manufacturers shorten development cycles and deliver consistent off-grid performance across product lines in the United States, Australia and Europe.

“Renogy has been serving RV users for 16 years,” said Dr. Li Yi, founder and CEO of Renogy. “As off-grid lifestyles continue to grow, working with RV manufacturers allows more people to easily enjoy the convenience and freedom of integrated off-grid energy systems.”

To further support OEM partners and end users, Renogy said it is expanding its team in Elkhart, Indiana, to enhance local service capabilities and accelerate response times for manufacturers and dealers. The XT9 Off-Grid Extreme is the latest example of how Renogy combines smart technology, user-focused design and OEM collaboration to deliver comprehensive off-grid solutions.
