Roadmaster Diode Kit Solves Jeep Dash Lighting Issue

Roadmaster

Roadmaster notes that Jeep vehicles are among the most popular for towing behind a motorhome, but the company said that as the electronics on these vehicles become more complex, challenges can arise. One recent example occurs on certain late-model Jeeps equipped with LED lighting and vehicle proximity sensors (ParkSense) – if an ordinary diode is used when modifying the vehicle’s lighting for dinghy towing applications, the dash electronics will become active while towing, which may result in a discharged or dead battery.

Jeep dashboard lights staying on had been a problem until now.

Roadmaster said its new #152789 Smart Diode Kit solves this problem by correctly modulating voltage, so that only the intended circuit is activated and the dash electronics remain off. The #152789 kit includes two Smart Diodes for LED taillights; 27 feet of four-wire harness; two one-foot white wires (ground); a 10-to-12 ga butt connector; three ring terminals; a three-foot length of split loom; three self-tapping screws; and 11 wire ties.
